Happy birthday! I hope you have a good one.

( Tracey )
Last night I saw a non-IS fourth year out after their curfew and escorted them back to Hufflepuff instead of giving them a detention. I don't want to be responsible for someone getting cursed, but of course now I'm paranoid someone saw me. I don't understand why they insist on being out late - they should know by now that's a moronic thing to do.

I'm quite looking forward to Chess Club tonight - after double Dark Arts I think a game is exactly what I need to clear my head.

Does anyone else feel weird

Congrats on passing apparition tests. Everyone did pass, right?

Tracey
I feel really weird that no one else was allowed to take apparition tests. Even Abigail! I'd have thought they'd have made an exception since she's a pureblood AND a Slytherin.

Well that was an unexpected change in schedule.

For those that were wondering, the Carrows were found in one piece and should be back in classes tomorrow.

( warded to Ian )
I'm still not entirely sure how non-first years managed to get so lost, though.

I'd just like to express my appreciation for those couples who are able to keep their shows of affection to themselves, or at least use the appropriate wards.

For all that I think Tracey is far more transparent than she ought to be, I didn't have a clue that her mother is muggleborn. So she's doing something right, at least. If anything, though, this really ought to make her more interested in staying in line, rather than putting herself and her mother at risk. But in the end, Tracey will be Tracey, I suppose. Just so long as our friendship doesn't put my own loyalties in question.

Rumors of Slytherin's flood have been greatly exaggerated, and after some help last night we're as good as new, though I suspect most people who cared already knew.

Disturbing news about that Dementor, though. I suppose everyone's very lucky that people were at the ready with Patronuses.

Is Dueling Club always like that? I was afraid Stephen and Brandon were going to do permanent damage to each other.

72 hours in the IS, and I'm already not sure about this. Though I do like the lounge.

I hope that now that this Towler incident is done, those whose families were affected by it can find some peace. And my condolences to those who knew Towler as well, as I'm sure that finding out that someone you know is capable of things like that must be difficult. The Kiss

If I can make it through the Common Room and into my own room without catching on fire from a game of exploding snap tonight or being squirted by some gobstones, I will consider it a successful birthday. It's amazing how my standards have changed now that there are so many more people around so much earlier. Even with all the IS members Slytherin has, so I can't imagine what it's like in the other Common Rooms.

Wednesdays are always my fullest day, running from one thing, to another, to another. I'm so glad that they give way to Thursdays, which has much more free time, and Friday which has my two favorite classes. And, you know, is Friday.

Chess Club
Can we move the Chess club meeting back to leave room for those of us who need to be back by the curfew? And if possible, quite a bit back, as I usually like to stay more than the allotted hour, anyways.

As much as I enjoyed the break, and the time at home was nice, I'm looking forward to classes starting back up tomorrow. I've missed the library.

Now that all of the fairies are captured and all the hair is back to normal, the decorations in the hall do look rather nice. It would have been better if it could have happened without the escaped fairies, though.

I know that I don't say this often - most people don't as a matter of fact - but I just wanted to thank each person here at Hogwarts for being who you are, and helping to add to the Hogwarts experience. Even those of you who I'm not particularly fond of most of the time, you're an integral part of the school, and Hogwarts wouldn't be the same without you. And though I don't know all of you, or most of you, even I'm sure there are lovely and unique things about each and every one of you.

And I hope everyone has a lovely day today.

Just when I think that the people involved with Dumbledore's Army are the most moronic people in this castle, my housemates go and make me question that assesment.

I don't understand what Pansy was trying to do in the least. If she's at all representative of the regime change that's happening, they're not going to last very long either.

Can I really be the only person left in this castle with any sense?

I'm not sure if everyone's heard or not, as they've been a little lax on getting the word out, but it's my understanding that Dumbledore's Army is still recruiting!

I have noticed, however, that though they're recruiting they've not really explained how one goes about joining, so I'm not entirely sure how their recruiting attempts are going.

And it appears that they recruit students only for the purpose of vandalizing with signs stating that they're recruiting. It's a little too recursive for my taste, but it's possible I'm just not in the right mindset.

Additionally, they don't seem to be the most honorable group, as none of them appear to have come forward to take the blame regardless of the fact that Montgomery has been accused and punished, though she swears that it's not her.

Aside from those issues, however, it sounds like a really great group!

Well I don't know about the rest of you, but seeing "Muggleborns are Friends" carved into a pumpkin was certainly all that I needed in order to make up my mind on the issue.

I'm not sure how I feel about giants or centaurs, though, so if someone would carve a message about them into pumpkins, it would be greatly appreciated.

Chess club tonight was a waste of time. I'm assuming the pieces decided to rebel on their own, though I suppose it might have also been some halfhearted metaphor for rebellion in general, like that stunt in the great hall a bit ago.

Additionally I'd like to encourage people to use wards as appropriate. There's a lot of blather on here lately that probably doesn't need to be shared with everyone. And in some cases, it's probably not in your best interest to share it with everyone.

Today's History of Magic reading was incredibly intriguing. I'm so glad to finally have only the people who are actually interested in the subject in the class. The snoring was so distracting when everyone had to take it.
